The local church isn’t just for “some people,” it’s for everyONE. Jesus is on an endless pursuit after the one- He even tells us there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who haven’t strayed away. His Church should follow His lead. At Grumlaw, you can belong before you believe- come explore, learn more about your risen Savior, and take your next step towards Jesus.
The Bible isn’t a version of truth, it is THE truth- the unchanging, inerrant word of God. At Grumlaw, we don’t uphold portions of Scripture, we believe and embrace all of Scripture- even the stuff that doesn’t sit well with us. We don’t approach Scripture with our ideas and preconceived notions, we allow Scripture to shape our thoughts and convictions.
Pursuing Jesus isn’t a drag or an “I have to”- it’s the greatest joy we can experience in this life and an “I get to!” Around here, “the joy of the Lord is our strength.” Anyone should walk through the doors of grumlaw and think “I want whatever they have.”
We never look more like Jesus than when we are being generous- with our time, talents, and treasure. In a world that screams, “keep everything for yourself,” Jesus teaches the complete opposite- “give it up!” We will strive to be a community that is known, first and foremost, by our generosity.
The Holy Spirit is real and lives within the follower of Jesus, prayer is effective and speaks to God’s heart. We will spend our limited time on this earth with an eager and certain expectation- trusting in the God who goes before us, with us, and after us.
Rather than being quick to jump to the negative or pointing out faults in others, we will assume the best in people. We will cling to the positive rather than the negative. When we do this, we model what Christ did for every one of us.
The “next step” for each follower of Jesus will likely be different. We will be careful not to elevate one step of obedience over the other; instead, we will celebrate when any step is taken. How do we measure success? How do we determine if we’re making an impact for Christ? By looking around and observing sheep taking their next step toward their shepherd.
Attend weekly services and begin exploring who God is, experiencing His presence, and taking your next step toward Him.
Once you put your faith in Jesus, it’s time to go public with that decision through water baptism.
God calls us to be generous not only with our finances, but with our time, gifts, and everyday lives.
God desires to have a personal relationship with you, and that grows through daily time spent with Him.
Everything we have comes from God, and we joyfully give back to help build the Church and reach people.
Life is not meant to be lived alone, which is why Connect Groups help us grow in faith and community.
God calls every follower of Jesus to share His life-changing message with the people around them every day.
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity and the son of God- He became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to save us.

We believe that all people were created in the image of God and were designed to have relationship with Him. However, all people have sinned, and in turn, ruined that relationship with Him. Through our own efforts, we are incapable of mending that relationship.
Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3:6; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 3:23
We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God without error because the writers were moved by the Spirit of God to write those words. It is the only book that has the power to transform lives.
Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105;Proverbs 30:5
We believe that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as payment for their sin.
John 1:12, 3:16, 14:6; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5;Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1
We believe baptism is an outward expression of an inward commitment- it is a declaration to the world that we have received salvation through Jesus and symbolizes His death, burial, and resurrection.
Colossians 2:12; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:16; Acts 16:31-33
We believe all Jesus followers should live a life for Jesus, not themselves. This occurs through obedience to the Word of God and daily submission to the Holy Spirit.
Romans 12:2; Colossians 3:5-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Matthew 7:21-23;James 1:22-27; Ephesians 4:1-6
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the head. The members of the Church are those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God and make Him known throughout the world.
